If jihad meant fighting only, then how would we understand the use of the word in the early period when fighting was not permitted? For example, the Quran uses the word jihad in (25:52), saying: “Do jihad against them” This is an early verse and was revealed in Mecca. No translator has ever translated jihad here as fighting, because fighting was not allowed at this stage. Rather they all translate it as “strive”.

JIHAD IS NOT TERRORISM

The word “jihad” is derived from the Arabic word “Jahd/Juhd” which means .....

There is a general Islamic principle that states that the harmful is considered unlawful (haram). Allah (the All-Mighty) says: “ He allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure)” (7:157)

All scholars unanimously agree that whatever is proved to beharmful to the body and mind is prohibited (haram).
